How do I configure product lines in my Brand Kit?

AI workflows are only as accurate as the product context they carry. Adding Product Lines to your Brand Kit ensures every workflow has precise, up-to-date details about what you sell, who it is for, and how you position it. This tutorial walks through how to add and configure Product Lines in AirOps.

Key takeaways

  1. Product Lines give Playbooks verified, specific information about what you sell and what makes it different, so outputs stay accurate rather than relying on generic context.
  2. Product Lines are especially useful for product descriptions, sales emails, landing pages, and comparison content.
  3. You can reference Product Lines as array variables in Playbooks to generate tailored content for each product in a single workflow.
  4. Filling in the Competitors and Key Differentiators fields helps AI-generated content handle head-to-head comparisons accurately.
  5. Changes auto-save to a draft. Publish when you're ready for your Playbooks to pick up the updates.

Tutorial overview

AI models don't know your product. They know products like yours, which means without explicit context, outputs get generic names, vague positioning, and details that don't match reality. Product Lines fix that. They give every Playbook and Grid connected to your Brand Kit verified, specific information about what you sell, who it's for, and what makes it different.

Setting one up is straightforward. Inside your Brand Kit, navigate to Product Lines and click Add. Fill in four fields: name, description, differentiators, and any additional notes the model should know, such as pricing tier, target market, or technical specs. Save it, and it's immediately available across your entire workspace.

Product Lines matter most when your brand sells multiple products. They keep AI outputs accurate and distinct across product descriptions, sales emails, landing pages, and comparison content. They also work alongside Audiences, Content Types, and Regions to give the model the full picture it needs to write well.

Practice

  1. Open product lines and create a new product

The Product Lines tab in an AirOps Brand Kit is accessible from the top navigation within the Brand Kit editor, where all brand product and service offerings are created and managed. Click Add Product Line in the top-right corner to open the creation modal. Enter the product name, which serves as the primary identifier throughout the Brand Kit and in all AI-generated content. Add a Context URL so AirOps can scrape the page and better understand the product and its competitive landscape. Click Add Product to save the new product line to the Brand Kit instantly.

  2. Review the product line detail page

Open the product line detail page by clicking its card from the Product Lines tab. The page displays auto-generated content including Product Line Details, Key Differentiators, and Positioning. Review and edit the Key Differentiators and Positioning section to ensure AI-generated content accurately reflects the product's competitive standing, and check the Product Competitors section to refine the auto-populated competitor entries used in content generation.

  3. Add a competitor to the product line

Click Add Competitor to open the modal and enter the competitor's name. Then add the competitor's domain and select which product lines this competitor challenges, enabling focused benchmarking within the Brand Kit.

  4. Publish Brand Kit

Applying all pending updates and making the latest Brand Kit version available to the team requires clicking Publish. The button is in the top-right corner of the Brand Kit editor.
